This past offseason, 14-time All-Star LeBron James negotiated a $154 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Having James on the roster of this relatively young team, which has very few veterans, could very well be the turning point for the Lakers to reach the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2012-13 NBA season. James might just even help his team achieve the ultimate goal of being crowned as the 2019 NBA Champions.

James could be the best fit to help the Lakers win it all. James is arguably the best player currently in the NBA, and also is considered by some fans to be the best of all time. He has been in every NBA Finals since 2011 and has won the NBA regular season MVP 4 times as well as the NBA Finals MVP 3 times. If that doesn’t show how great of a player he is, I don’t know what will.

Adding James is going to help foster the work ethic and skills on the court for the more inexperienced players. He has also proven that he is a community leader off the court, especially after he recently founded a school serving underprivileged kids in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. His leadership on and off the court will help the less experienced players on his team improve their morale.

LeBron James has proven himself to be a leader and playmaker ever since his rookie season in the NBA, or even before that, when he was a standout player at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He earned the contract he negotiated this summer, and the 4-year agreement will be completely worth it for both sides. The Lakers will be paying James his well-deserved salary, and James will be helping to bring his team into contention for the NBA Championship.
